Without giving the game away totally, I’m going to tell you a little bit about the different strategies you can employ whilst playing GeoSweep. Don’t worry; this isn’t one of those guides that promise you’ll be a millionaire if you buy it! This is just a free bit of advice!

OK, so. Let’s cut to the chase, and get the obvious out of the way first. The more Geos you buy, the greater your chances of winning. But you knew that already. What about making your 3 Geos more likely to win than your mate’s 3 Geos?

In this first edition of strategy tips I’m going to talk about how the distribution of occupied Geos affects your odds of winning.

The key factor affecting the odds that you are exposed to is ‘Occupied Geo Density’. That is, in a particular area, how many other occupied Geos are there? This is because of the way the draw works, and how runners’ up prizes are paid.

Let’s recap on how both daily draws work. Geosweep’s UK Gambling Commission approved, Swiss made, Hardware Random Number Generator picks a winning Geo for both the GeoSweep and the Daily Guarantee, every day. The Daily Guarantee will always pick an occupied Geo (because only occupied Geos are entered). The GeoSweep will pick any Geo on the map, and if that Geo is occupied, then it pays out.

So every day on the Daily Guarantee, and whenever the GeoSweep winning Geo is occupied, the first prize is paid out to the respective winning Geo. They then pay out the runners up prizes. This works as follows;
UKGeosweep extend a square outwards from the winning Geo until it includes (wholly or partly) at least 100 surrounding Geos (occupied or not). We call this area the Prize Zone, and it appears as a translucent white square on the map around any winning locations. Any occupied Geos within the Prize Zone will share the Runners’ up prize.

Example:
• Runners’ Up Prize fund is £100,000
• 100 Occupied Geos in Prize Zone – Each one gets £1,000
• 50 Occupied Geos in Prize Zone – Each one gets £2,000
• 10 Occupied Geos in Prize Zone – Each one gets £10,000

If your Geos are in a densely populated area then you are within the potential Prize Zone of more Geos. Thus, there is more chance to win! Not only will you win if your Geo is picked, but you’ll also pick up prizes when any of those around you win! Happy days!

So shouldn’t everyone just buy their Geos in a densely populated area? Possibly. Although you are giving yourself more chances to win, if you do win, you are sharing with lots of other people, and thus winning less cash. See example above.

The alternative strategy is to place your Geos together in an area that is otherwise isolated. Say, the middle of the Scottish Highlands. This means that if you do win, not only will you win the first prize, but your proximate Geos will also clear up the whole of the Runners’ up prize, sharing with no one since there is no one else to share with! You get the whole lot! Happy days again!

There are then plenty of variations on the above. How about putting one Geo in a densely populated area and 2 in an isolated area?
